To further accelerate our growth in line with the global business strategy, we have an opportunity for a Senior Automation Design Manager to join us on a permanent full-time basis in Sydney, NSW, Australia .

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for the growth and development of Jungheinrich's Warehouse Equipment and Automation capability across Australia and New Zealand. The Senior Automation Design Manager will play a key role in providing technical expertise, solution development and project sales support across conventional warehouse equipment. The role will also support the design and integration of automated systems.

Role Responsibilities

- Support the growth of Jungheinrich's Warehouse Equipment and Automation capability across Australia and New Zealand.
- Provide technical design support for warehouse equipment, racking and automation solutions.
- Support the design and integration of systems including conveyors, mobile robots, AGV/AMR systems, AutoVNA, WMS/WCS interfaces and ASRS solutions.
- Review customer operations, site information, material flow,



storage requirements and commercial objectives to develop practical and suitable solutions.
- Prepare and review layouts, technical concepts, costings, quotation, proposals, and project assumptions.
- Assist with customer opportunities from early enquiry through to proposal, quotation and project handover.
- Ensure proposed solutions are safe, compliant, practical, scalable and commercially viable.
- Work closely with Sales, Implementation, Service, suppliers, international support teams and external partners to develop accurate and deliverable solutions.
- Support the review of contract terms, technical requirements, project risks, commercial assumptions and handover documents.
- Monitor project opportunities, bid quality, pipeline progress, gross profit assumptions and potential risks.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, internal stakeholders and international Jungheinrich teams.
- Keep informed of market trends, competitor activity, customer needs and new automation technologies.
- Share knowledge with the wider team and help strengthen local automation design capability.

About You

You will ideally be an experienced technical design professional with a strong background in warehouse equipment,



automation or material handling solutions. You will bring a strong combination of technical design capability, commercial awareness and hands‑on customer project involvement.

Responsible for supporting the growth and development of Jungheinrich's Warehouse and Automation capability across Australia and New Zealand. This will include providing technical design expertise, solution development and project sales support across conventional warehouse equipment, racking and complex automated material‑handling systems.

You Will Have

- A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 year's experience in warehouse equipment, automation, material handling, racking, ASRS, system integration or similar technical project environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of warehouse layout planning, material flow, storage concepts, equipment selection, system sizing and project costing.
- A structured, detail‑orientated approach with a focus on accuracy, quality, documentation and handover.
