Tuckshop Convenor (Supervisor)

Salary Range: Services Staff Level 3 - $34.17 to $35.62 gross per hour plus 12.75% Super

St Joseph's Parish School, Weipa

St Joseph’s Parish School is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Tuckshop Convenor to lead the day‑to‑day operations of our busy and much‑loved school tuckshop. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating great food experiences and takes pride in delivering high‑quality service to students and staff. The Tuckshop Convenor will oversee all aspects of tuckshop operations, ensuring the provision of fresh, appealing food and drinks in a welcoming, efficient environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Menu planning, purchasing and ordering stock
- Managing daily operations
- Ensuring full compliance with food safety standards and equipment maintenance requirements
- Supporting the Smart Food Choices school environment and enhancing the overall tuckshop experience
- Collaborating with the Principal on menu development, new product ideas, pricing and equipment maintenance or upgrade needs

Role Requirements

- Actively plan for and maintain high standards of management and administration
- Order goods from suppliers in accordance with school requirements
- Manage the rostering of staff and volunteers, ensuring adequate training and induction




- Be aware of and comply with regulations and expectations for health and safety at all times
- Be aware of and comply with the annual budget for the Tuckshop
- Promote the tuckshop on the school Facebook page

Essential Criteria

This position relies heavily on teamwork, effective communication and knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.

The Successful Applicant Is Required To

- Undergo Mandatory Student Protection training
- Hold a current Blue Card
- Hold or be willing to obtain a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Have the ability to manage and lead staff and volunteers in a professional and positive manner
- Possess excellent organisational skills, initiative and enthusiasm
- Uphold the staff Code of Conduct at all times
- Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education

Preferred But Non-essential Criteria

- First Aid qualifications
- Accredited Barista training
- Experience using online rostering software—Flexischools
