Senior 12D Roads Designer

The Senior 12D Roads Designer plays a key role within the highways team, strengthening technical capability and driving high‑quality project outcomes. This role combines leadership, advanced design expertise, and collaboration to successfully deliver complex projects while contributing to continuous improvement and design excellence.

Responsibilities

- Lead road alignment design for major urban and rural highways, as well as local road and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and oversee high‑quality 3D designs, technical drawings, and documentation using 12d Model and associated tools.
- Manage alignment design delivery, ensuring outputs are completed within project timeframes, scope, and budget.
- Develop and implement innovative technical solutions, coordinating multidisciplinary design inputs and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.
- Mentor and support junior designers through delegation, review, and feedback while contributing to team capability development.

Qualifications

- Extensive experience in road alignment design, with strong knowledge of Austroads, TMR, and Australian Standards.
- Advanced proficiency in 12d Model, BIM workflows, and technical tools such as CAD, Bluebeam, and ProjectWise.
- Proven ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary projects, including coordination, design reviews, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience facilitating technical discussions and mentoring team members.




- A relevant tertiary qualification and commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
