This permanent midwife position is located approximately 10 km from the CBD in Melbourne's inner west.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clinical, non‑clinical, and social needs, including identification of at‑risk women and babies, and accurately document findings in the consumer’s health record and care plan.
- Demonstrate accountability and responsibility for all care delivered, practicing within scope and in accordance with organisational policies and qualified standards.
- Recognise changes in consumers’ condition and take necessary action, including reporting and escalation, seeking appropriate assistance.
- Effectively develop discharge plans that reflect the needs of women, babies, families and their significant others and demonstrate an understanding of the role of community providers.
- Role‑model best practice and reference latest research.
- Perform other midwifery duties as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Current registration with AHPRA.
- Experience as a registered midwife.
- Demonstrated effective organisational skills, particularly with respect to time management, delegation and supervision.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Police and criminal history check.
- Working with Children check if requested.
- Immunisation health clearance prior to employment.
- Sponsorship applications accepted for international applicants.
