- Located 150 km east of Melbourne, the hospital is one of Gippsland’s largest employers, with around 2600 employees. It is a purpose‑built teaching hospital caring for a population of more than 270,000. With 313 beds and treatment chairs, the range of specialised services includes cancer care, cardiology, and mental health. A significant expansion is due to open in 2024, with an increase in theatres, a current ICU, larger and contemporary women’s and children’s units, and more inpatient beds.
