Smith St Hotel, a new pub located in Collingwood, Victoria, is seeking a talented commis chef and chef de partie to join their team. This is a full-time position, offering the prospect to contribute to the creation of a great pub in Collingwood offering rotating daily specials, seasonal pub fare and a small bar menu

What you'll be doing

- Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes
- Ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation and service
- Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Participating in menu development and implementing new recipes
- Providing guidance and support to junior kitchen staff
- Adhering to all health, safety and food hygiene regulations

What we're looking for

- 1-3 years of experience as a Commis chef or in a similar role within a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations
- A passion for food and produce
- Attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure




- A team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Relevant culinary qualifications or a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning
