Job Description

We're looking for an experienced and people-focused Medical Management Team Manager to lead our Medical Management team. In this pivotal leadership role, you'll coach, develop and inspire a team of Medical Management Specialists while driving high-quality outcomes for injured workers, clients and the business.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing the team's performance, ensuring consistent and compliant decision‑making, and fostering a collaborative, high‑performing culture. Working closely with internal stakeholders, Medical Advisors and leadership teams, you’ll champion continuous improvement and support exceptional customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, coach and develop a team of Medical Management Specialists to achieve performance and quality outcomes

- Oversee the assessment and approval of medical and like services and surgical requests, ensuring compliance with WorkSafe legislation and industry guidelines

- Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback and identify development opportunities

- Act as the key escalation point for complex medical management matters

- Partner with Medical Advisors, Treating Health Practitioners and Claims Leaders to support appropriate treatment and recovery pathways

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process efficiencies and a positive team culture

- Ensure service standards, quality, compliance and customer expectations are consistently achieved

About You

- Demonstrated leadership experience within Workers' Compensation, Personal Injury or Insurance

- Strong understanding of medical management, return-to-work and WorkSafe legislation





- Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop high‑performing teams

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

- A collaborative leadership style with a focus on continuous improvement and customer outcomes

- Allied health qualifications are highly regarded but not essential
