About The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for an Assistant in Nursing (AIN) to join the Haemodialysis Unit at Tamworth Hospital. Our modern 17-chair unit operates two shifts, six days a week, providing essential care for patients living with End Stage Kidney Disease. The service also delivers acute haemodialysis support to the Intensive Care Unit and provides a plasmapheresis service to both inpatients and outpatients. About The Role

As a valued member of our dynamic and supportive team, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and ensuring patients have a safe and positive treatment experience. Working alongside Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses, you will assist with patient care during dialysis treatments, including monitoring and recording observations, weighing patients, supporting dialysis set-ups, and providing emotional support and reassurance. You will also contribute to maintaining a safe, clean and efficient clinical environment by upholding infection prevention and control standards and assisting with the day-to-day operation of the unit. The successful applicant will have a supported education program with the Nurse Educator and be given supernumerary shifts to support learning of the role.

About You

The successful applicant will be keen to learn about nursing patients who are undergoing haemodialysis treatment and work in a friendly supportive team environment.

It is a fast-paced environment that requires a person who has initiative and can prioritise and organise their workload.

You Will Have

- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assistant in Nursing) Acute Care or currently undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing (minimum completed first year) – (Please upload supporting documents within your application).
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and follow direction from Registered Nurse.
- Excellent organisational skills, reliability, and the ability to prioritise tasks, follow direction, and adapt within a busy clinical environment.
- A commitment to safe, high-quality care, including the ability to recognise and report changes in patient condition, adhere to safety and infection prevention practices, and learn new skills and systems.
