About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow ITOM Developer to join a large enterprise workplace, where you will act as the technical authority for the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) platform. You will be responsible for the design, configuration, governance, and continuous improvement of the ServiceNow ITOM ecosystem, ensuring the CMDB remains a trusted source of truth supporting critical ITSM and ITOM capabilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with enterprise architects, service owners, governance teams, and operational stakeholders to deliver robust CMDB solutions, optimise discovery processes, and enhance service visibility across complex enterprise environments.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

- Act as the technical lead and subject matter expert for ServiceNow ITOM and CMDB capabilities.
- Configure, maintain, and optimise:
- Design and implement CMDB data models aligned with ServiceNow best practices and Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
- Onboard new services, applications, infrastructure components, and CI classes into the CMDB.
- Configure and maintain Discovery schedules, MID Servers, credentials, patterns, and data ingestion mechanisms.
- Implement CMDB enhancements and governance changes through formal Change Management (RFC) processes.
- Ensure CMDB data quality, service modelling, and platform optimisation.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, network, application, and service teams to deliver accurate service dependency mapping.
- Develop technical standards, operational documentation, implementation guides, and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to internal teams while supporting the ongoing evolution of the ServiceNow ITOM platform.

Requirements and Experience

- Extensive experience implementing and supporting ServiceNow ITOM solutions within large enterprise environments.
- Solid hands-on experience with:
- Discovery
- Service Mapping
- Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE)
- CMDB Governance
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow CMDB architecture and CSDM.
- Experience onboarding complex enterprise services and infrastructure into CMDB.
- Proven experience implementing CMDB changes through formal RFC/Change Management processes.
- Strong infrastructure knowledge across:
- Compute
- Networking
- Enterprise applications
- Solid understanding of ITIL, ITSM, ITOM, and configuration management principles.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work effectively within highly governed enterprise environments.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
- Experience with Event Management, Service Graph Connectors, Cloud Discovery, or AIOps.
- Experience working within government or other highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of enterprise monitoring and observability platforms.
