Butler Plumbing is a well-established maintenance plumbing company based in Fitzroy. We look after homes, apartment buildings, commercial properties, real estate agents, building managers and owners’ corporations across Melbourne’s inner suburbs.

We’re growing our roof maintenance work and are looking for an experienced maintenance plumber / roof plumber— not just a roofer. We need someone who understands general maintenance plumbing, can diagnose problems properly, deal with clients professionally, and also has strong experience with roofs, gutters, flashing, downpipes and leak detection.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be working across a variety of maintenance plumbing and roof plumbing jobs, including:

Diagnosing and repairing roof leaks

Gutter, flashing and downpipe repairs

Roof maintenance and replacement works

General plumbing maintenance

Fault-finding and problem-solving

Leak investigations

Working with building managers, real estate agents,



commercial clients and homeowners

Helping mentor younger plumbers and apprentices where required

Assisting us to grow and improve our roof maintenance services

Who this role would suit

This job would be ideal for an experienced maintenance plumber who has strong roof plumbing experience and enjoys fault-finding, leak detection and repair work.

You may have been working on your own, subcontracting, or working in a smaller business and now want more stability, support and structure.

You might be at the stage where you want a secure role, a reliable team around you, and the chance to use your experience without having to carry the whole business on your back.





We’re not looking for someone who only wants to install roofs all day. We’re looking for a well-rounded maintenance plumber who can turn their hand to general plumbing work, roof leaks, gutters, flashing, downpipes and the sort of jobs where experience really matters.

What we’re looking for

Registered or licensed plumber

Strong maintenance plumbing experience

Strong roof plumbing skills

Excellent fault-finding ability

Ability to diagnose roof leaks and explain the solution clearly

Experience with gutters, flashing, downpipes and roof repairs

Good communication with clients and office staff

Clear paperwork and job notes

Reliable, organised and professional

Ability to work safely and lead by example

A good sense of humour always helps
