Are you passionate about workplace safety and creating a culture where people go home safe every day? We are seeking an experienced and proactive SHE Officer to join our Distribution Centre team in Western Sydney.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving safety, health and environmental performance across a busy warehouse operation. Working closely with site leadership and operational teams, you will be responsible for the effective implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the site's SHE Management System while ensuring compliance with company standards and legislative requirements.
About The Role
As site SHE Officer you will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and reporting of the SHE Management System to drive a strong safety culture and positive SHE performance across the Distribution Centre.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Implementing the site SHE Management System to ensure timely reporting of incidents, completion of investigations and closure of corrective actions.
- Supporting site management through SHE reporting, including lead and lag performance indicators.
- Identifying, developing and implementing SHE improvement initiatives to enhance site safety performance.
- Ensuring site compliance with Nestlé Global Standards, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and all relevant legislative requirements.
- Implementing and coordinating site monitoring and measurement activities, including inspections and audits.
- Promoting visible SHE leadership on the warehouse floor through coaching, influencing and supporting leaders and the SHE Committee.
- Coordinating SHE training activities in line with the annual training plan.
- Maintaining and tracking training records, training calendars and competency matrices.
- Preparing and maintaining daily,
weekly and monthly SHE reports and associated administration.
- Conducting workplace inspections to identify hazards and verify compliance.
- Investigating incidents, near misses and injuries to determine root causes and drive preventative actions.
- Supporting workers' compensation and return-to-work processes as required.
- Recommending solutions, corrective actions and continuous improvement opportunities to minimise risk.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Experience working with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Experience delivering safety training and facilitating safety committees.
- Previous experience within a Distribution Centre, FMCG, warehousing or logistics environment.
- A strong understanding of workplace health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Experience implementing safety management systems within a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Experience with risk management practices, hazard identification and incident investigations.
- Sound knowledge of relevant WHS legislation and compliance requirements.
- Robust organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- The ability to influence positive safety behaviours across a diverse workforce.
