Nomadic Off-Road Campers is expanding our service center and requires a skilled and dedicated Caravan Service Technician to join our team in Mackay, QLD.
This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and servicing our range of high-quality off‑road caravans and camper trailers. As a Caravan Service Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that every caravan that leaves our workshop meets our stringent quality standards and safety requirements. You will also be required to service a range of caravans from other manufacturers & customers.
This role is essential to our commitment to customer satisfaction and the longevity of our products, making you a key contributor to Nomadic Off‑Road Campers' reputation for excellence.
What you’ll be doing
- Performing servicing and maintenance on caravans, camper trailers and off‑road vans, including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Following existing checklist systems and procedures to diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
- Conducting safety inspections and compliance checks to ensure all vehicles meet relevant Australian standards and regulations
- Undertaking scheduled maintenance tasks such as bearing changes, filter replacements, brake servicing and suspension work
- Inspecting and servicing plumbing systems, appliances, water systems and electrical installations on caravans
- Maintaining accurate service records and documentation for all work completed
- Liaising with customers to explain work carried out and provide advice on vehicle maintenance and care
- Ordering and managing spare parts and materials required for repairs and maintenance
- Adhering to health and safety standards and workshop procedures at all times
- Supporting the team to ensure efficient and timely completion of service schedules
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience working as a mechanic or service technician, preferably with caravans,
camper trailers or recreational vehicles
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems commonly found in caravans and off‑road vehicles
- Competency in using power/hand tools and workshop machinery
- Familiarity with Australian vehicle safety standards and compliance requirements
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality workmanship
- Reliable, professional and customer‑focused approach to service delivery
- A current driver’s licence and reliable transport
- Experience with caravans, campers or marine systems would be highly advantageous
