Since 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has delivered vital aeromedical,emergencyand primary health care across Australia. Through ourFlying Doctor Patient Transport,we providenon‑emergencypatient transport in Victoria and New South Wales, supporting patients with safe, compassionate care as they travel between home,hospitalsand specialist clinics - on the ground and in the air.
About the role
Flying Doctor Patient Transport isseekingmotivated and caring Patient Transport Officers to join our Echucateam. Thisfixed-term full-time roleoffers flexibility, structured training, and the prospect to work alongside experienced clinicians in a supportive environment - without the pressures of emergency response work
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Perform patient assessment and intervention during road transport
- Deliver safe, compassionate care aligned with RFDS clinical guidelines and NEPT regulations
- Monitor patients and evaluate responses to treatmenten‑route
- Work collaboratively with a partner clinician in ateam‑basedmodel
Qualifications and experience required:
- A minimum qualification of Cert III in Non-Emergency Patient care, Diploma of Nursing, or equivalent. Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic) students may apply on completion of second year subject units
- Experience working in the NEPT sector in an equal role desirable but not essential
- Full Victorian Driver Licence
- National Police Check, Working with Children Check and right to work in Australia

Mandatory vaccination policy:
