Senior Technical Anchor: Take on the lead technical role driving a critical, large-scale application modernisation and migration initiative within our Federal Government client.

- Complex Estate Transformation: Guide the strategic discovery and technical solution design to transition a 15-year legacy estate-consisting of tightly coupled applications, Oracle databases, and custom CRM workloads-into modern, cloud-managed infrastructure.

Role & Responsibilities

- Lead Discovery & Assessment: Spearhead the deep-dive assessment and technical discovery of highly customised legacy applications, data structures, and complex integrations.
- Solution Architecture & Design: Author detailed, robust solution designs aligned with approved departmental target architectures, prioritizing modern cloud-native platforms like Microsoft Azure.
- Define Migration Strategies: Outline precise migration approaches, deployment models, and transition requirements for individual workloads.
- Security & Resilience Engineering: Formulate robust architecture patterns focused on enterprise security, system resilience, and sustainable operational support models.
- Navigate Technical Governance: Champion technical designs through formal architecture assurance and change control boards to achieve institutional endorsement.
- Technical Mentorship & Risk Mitigation:



Proactively identify, track, and mitigate technical architectural risks while providing high-level mentorship across a blended engineering team.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:

- Technical Toolkit: Deep Azure architecture and engineering expertise, with a proven ability to provide rigorous design-through-to-build assurance.
- Migration Leadership: Extensive experience leading complex application migration programs, specifically across hybrid Oracle and Microsoft technology estates.
- Government Frameworks: Strong capability in compiling technical design documentation to strict Commonwealth standards, alongside experience navigating formal Australian Public Service (APS) governance.
- Collaborative Mindset: The professional maturity to successfully operate within established departmental architecture assurance models rather than owning the overarching enterprise architecture outright.
- Desirable Background: TOGAF (or equivalent) certification, familiarity with ISM and PSPF security frameworks, or a deep technical specialization within either Dynamics CRM or Oracle platforms.

Eligibility & Clearance Requirements

- Security Clearance: Due to the secure nature of this federal government workplace, candidates must hold a current Australian Government Security Clearance or, at minimum, be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain one.
