A Modern Italian Restaurant in Werribee Victoria looking for a chef. Serving quality and traditional Italian cuisine. Our restaurant in Werribee is a fully licenced Italian restaurant. It is trading 7 days. We are seeking a full time cook with the right attitude and passion for working in Italian kitchen. The successful candidate will have a passion for cooking, a positive understanding Italian food preparation and the ability to work efficiently in a busy restaurant environment.

Task & responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking a variety of Italian dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu and recipes.
- Preparing ingredients including vegetables, meats, sauces, pasta and other food items for cooking.
- Cooking food to the required quality, portion size and presentation standards.
- Assisting with the preparation of daily specials and menu items.
- Ensuring food is prepared and served in a timely manner, particularly during busy service periods.
- Cook meals according to customer requests and dietary requirements, including vegetarian, gluten-free and other dietary requirements
- Checking the quality and freshness of food and ingredients before preparation and cooking.
- Following correct food storage,



temperature control and food handling procedures.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, cooking equipment, utensils and food preparation areas.
- Following workplace health and safety and food safety requirements at all times.
- Assisting with stock rotation and minimising food wastage.
- Working cooperatively with the Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Assisting with other general kitchen duties as required.

Qualification & experience
- 1–2 years of relevant work experience as a Cook or Chef in a commercial kitchen.
- Experience working in an Italian restaurant or with Italian cuisine will be highly regarded.
- Cert IV in Commercial cookery or equivalent
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy and fast-paced kitchen.
