EXCAVATOR OPERATOR – TELECOMMUNICATIONS CIVIL WORKS

About the role

Dawn Tech is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our telecommunications civil construction team on projects across regional Western Australia.

This position involves excavation and trenching for telecommunications infrastructure, along with general site-support duties when required. The successful applicant will be safety-focused, reliable and comfortable working away from home on a 12-days-on, 4-days-off roster.

Note- Sometimes roster vary, depending on client requirements.

Key responsibilities

- Operate excavators safely and efficiently

- Complete trenching and excavation for telecommunications infrastructure

- Work safely around existing underground services

- Conduct daily pre-start checks and report equipment issues

- Follow site plans, Protected Work Method Statements and project requirements

- Maintain safe and tidy work areas

- Assist with general civil and site-support duties when required

- Work cooperatively with supervisors and other team members

Essential requirements

- Demonstrated experience operating excavators

- Current White Card

- Current Excavator Operator ticket or valid Verification of Competency (VOC)





- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements

- Ability to work a 12-days-on, 4-days-off roster

- Willingness to travel and work across regional Western Australia

- Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively within a team

Highly regarded

- Previous NBN or telecommunications trenching experience

- Current HR driver’s licence

- Experience working around underground utilities and existing services

- Experience supporting telecommunications civil construction crews
