Junior Family Lawyer – about the role

At Allegra Family Lawyers, we understand that the early years of your legal career matter.

They are where you develop your habits, sharpen your judgment and learn what it really means to guide clients through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. We want to help you build those foundations properly.

Working alongside experienced family lawyers, you will gain exposure across the full scope of family law and play an active role in client matters. You will assist with client conferences, correspondence, legal research, drafting, court preparation and file management, with your level of responsibility increasing as your skills and confidence develop.

For this role, attitude and eagerness to learn matter more to us than years of experience.

We are not looking for someone who already knows everything. We are looking for someone who wants to learn, takes pride in their work, asks good questions,



responds well to feedback and is prepared to put in the effort required to become an excellent family lawyer.

Family law requires more than technical ability. Our clients need lawyers who can listen carefully, communicate clearly and approach difficult situations with empathy, professionalism and sound judgment. If those qualities come naturally to you, we can help you develop the legal skills and experience around them.

You will receive genuine mentoring, supervision and feedback from experienced practitioners who are invested in your development. As you progress, you will be supported to take greater ownership of matters and develop your own professional judgment, style and confidence.

Whether you are newly admitted, have started your career in another area of law, or already have some family law experience under your belt, we would like to hear from you.
