A boutique, family-run law firm in Southport is seeking a full-time Family Lawyer to join its team.
The firm is a general practice with work across conveyancing, wills and estates, commercial law, family law, criminal law, defamation, technology and cyber security, and domestic violence matters.
The role will be primarily focused on family law, and the successful applicant must have 5 years' post-qualification experience, including at least 3 years independently running family law matters.
There will also be the opportunity to assist with occasional matters in other areas of law for variety and to broaden experience.
The firm is comprised of a combination of full-time and part time lawyers, both junior and senior, together with an office manager.
The successful applicant will be expected to work collaboratively within this close-knit team, assist on other matters where required, and mentor a junior lawyer who will shadow and learn from them.




The firm uses Smokeball legal software and operates a digital-first practice wherever possible.
The successful applicant will therefore be comfortable adapting to technology, computer literate, and confident working in a digital file management environment.
The successful applicant will have:
5 years' post-qualification experience.
At least 3 years' experience independently running family law files.
A current Queensland or interstate practising certificate.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
A practical, client-focused approach.
A willingness to mentor and support junior staff.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Confidence using legal software and adapting to technology.
Remuneration will be negotiated for the right applicant.
