About the role An Asbestos Technician is responsible for the identification, removal, and disposal of asbestos-containing materials in buildings and structures.
They conduct inspections, collect samples for laboratory analysis, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines to prevent asbestos exposure.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct asbestos surveys and assessments in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Collect and analyse samples to identify the presence of asbestos.
Safely remove and dispose of asbestos-containing materials following established protocols and regulatory guidelines.
Operate and maintain specialized equipment for asbestos removal and disposal.




Prepare detailed reports and documentation of all asbestos-related activities.
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors regarding project status and findings.
Participate in training sessions and stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Essential Skills

Precision in constructing enclosures, decontaminating areas, and completing compliance paperwork.
Ability to perform manual labour and wear restrictive PPE and RPE for extended periods in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications needed:
Minimum Trade certificate or equivalent relevant work experience
