Maintenance Fitter/ Maintenance Technician
G&M; Cosmetics Pty. Limited is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Fitter/Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Taren Point facility in NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of our manufacturing equipment and facilities. As a Maintenance Fitter/Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment used in our cosmetics production operations. This role is essential to ensuring minimal downtime, optimal production output, and the highest standards of workplace safety across our operations.
Key responsibilities
Perform routine preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and technical faults in manufacturing equipment using appropriate testing tools and equipment
Carry out repairs and replacements of faulty components, parts and systems across the facility
Conduct inspections of machinery, equipment and facility systems to identify potential issues before they become critical problems
Maintain detailed maintenance records and documentation of all work completed, including parts used and time spent on each task
Collaborate with production and operations teams to schedule maintenance activities and minimise production disruptions
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair requests to restore operations quickly
Assist in the setup and commissioning of new equipment as required
Follow all health,
safety and environmental procedures and protocols at all times
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency
What we're looking for
A recognised apprenticeship or trade qualification in mechanical fitting, maintenance engineering or related field
Minimum of 1-3 years' practical experience as a Maintenance Fitter or Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment faults efficiently
Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance programmes
Competence in using hand tools, power tools and diagnostic testing equipment
A solid understanding of health, safety and environmental workplace requirements
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate maintenance records
Reliable, punctual and professional attitude with a focus on quality workmanship
Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development
Experience in the cosmetics or FMCG manufacturing sector would be advantageous
Familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) is desirable
