About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance & Technology and working as part of the Finance team, this role is focused on assuring senior leaders that risks are effectively minimised, and compliance maximised. We are looking for an experienced risk and compliance professional who combines technical expertise with strong relationship-building and communication skills, and who is passionate about enabling teams to do their best work while creating positive Starlight experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the risk and compliance framework andprogram
Ensure processes and controls to manage and mitigate risks
Maintain compliance register capturing all regulatory obligations.
Monitor and report on key regulatory changes affecting Starlight.
Assess and evaluate policies and procedures to achieve the identified risk and compliance management objectives
Facilitate and coordinate risk and control identification and assessments.
Proactively work with risk owners to manage Starlight's risk profile
Review the effectiveness of internal controls through an agreed annual internal audit program.



Report on internal audit findings and monitor and report on implementation of remediation actions.
Manage Starlight's insurance portfolio ensuring cover is appropriate for the levels of risk identified.
Monitor risk management processes on new projects and activities
Ensure accurate reporting to the Board, Audit & Risk Committee and Exec team & attend Audit& Risk Committee meetings as required.
Foster the risk and compliance champion network across Starlight
About you
An experienced risk and compliance professional who enjoys partnering with people to strengthen the risk management framework. You are pragmatic, collaborative and solutions-focused.
To be successful, you will bring :
Formal qualifications or training in risk management, governance, compliance, assurance or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit and/or assurance.
Experience developing and implementing risk management frameworks, controls and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, assess impacts and recommend practical solutions.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships at all levels.
Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across diverse teams
A proactive, customer-focused approach and a commitment to supporting other.
High levels of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.




Knowledge of the not-for-profit sector would be an advantage.
