Experienced Dental Receptionist – 2 Days per Week
This is not an entry-level position. Relevant dental or substantial medical reception experience is essential.
Wynnum Dentists is seeking an experienced Dental Receptionist to join our front office team for two weekdays per week.
To be considered, applicants must have either:
A minimum of one year of dental reception or dental assisting experience; or
Extensive medical reception or healthcare administration experience involving phone calls, appointment management and patient communication.
Applicants without relevant dental experience or substantial medical reception experience will not be considered.
About the role
Answering incoming calls confidently and professionally
Converting enquiries into appointments
Welcoming patients and providing a professional and friendly experience
Managing emails, appointment bookings and schedule changes
Maintaining an efficient and productive appointment book
Processing payments, health fund claims and patient accounts
Explaining appointments, fees and payment options clearly
Following up recalls, incomplete treatment and missed appointments
Supporting dentists and the wider team with daily front office duties
Handling patient concerns calmly and professionally
Essential experience and skills




At least one year of dental reception or dental assisting experience, or substantial medical reception experience
Strong phone communication and customer service skills
Confidence speaking with patients and managing enquiries
Experience managing a busy appointment book
Good organisation, accuracy and attention to detail
A reliable, accountable and qualified approach
Confidence using practice management software and general computer systems
Australian working rights
Availability to work two regular weekdays each week
Experience using dental practice management software will be highly regarded.
