THE ROLE

: Room Leader or Educator
Type
: Permanent Part Time
Reports to
: Educational Leader and Centre Manager. Educators also report to their Room Leader.
You'll work with a team of passionate educators to deliver play-based learning for children from 6 weeks to 6 years. You'll build relationships with children and families, contribute to documentation and program planning, and create classrooms where children feel safe, seen, and ready to explore.
Stepping up as a Room Leader? You'll lead your classroom's daily rhythm, mentor the educators alongside you, and take the lead on programming and reflection.
Either way, you're foundation team. You help shape the culture and practice of a brand-new centre from day one.
THE CENTRE
Bask Ellen Grove is a 120-place centre, architecturally designed, with 7 classrooms for children from 6 weeks to 6 years. Ratios sit at 1:4 for under threes and 1:8 for over threes, better than the regulatory minimums, so you get more time with each child. WEARTHY designed the outdoor playscape. Inside, the Family Lounge has fresh bakery items, a breakfast bar, and complimentary tea and coffee for educators and families.
YOUR IMPACT
Deliver play-based learning aligned with EYLF, QKLG and NQF
Build genuine relationships with children and families
Contribute to program planning, documentation and reflection




Use OWNA and StoryPark to capture learning and keep families in the loop
Keep the learning environment safe, clean and engaging
Support Exceeding NQS practice across all seven quality areas
Help build the culture of a brand-new centre from the ground up
WHAT YOU BRING
ACECQA-approved Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or actively working towards one. Room Leaders need a completed Diploma.
Working knowledge of EYLF, QKLG and NQF
Experience in long day care or a similar setting. Room Leaders bring room leadership or 2IC experience.
Strong communication and time management
Current Queensland Blue Card
Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training, or willing to obtain
NICE TO HAVE
Experience with project-based or inquiry-driven practice
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) and Penelope QIP
