About the role
Lead a transformative program that will shape the future of primary care access across the Clarence Valley. As the Senior Manager, Clarence Valley Primary Care Access, you will provide strategic leadership for a high-profile Australian Government funded initiative, working with general practices, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, health providers and community stakeholders to improve healthcare access, strengthen the local workforce and deliver better health outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to drive meaningful system-wide change through innovative service models, strong partnerships and sustainable solutions that will make a lasting impact on communities across Grafton, Maclean, Yamba and the wider Clarence Valley.
About you
To excel in this position, you will have:
Demonstrated understanding of general practice, and primary health care service delivery, including the funding environment, policy context, workforce pressures, rural service challenges, and opportunities to improve service delivery.




Demonstrated experience leading complex health, commissioning, service improvement or system reform programs, including planning, implementation, governance, risk management, budget oversight, performance monitoring and reporting to support delivery of strategic and operational plans.
Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership capability, with the ability to build trusted relationships across general practice, ACCHOs, the Local Health District, community pharmacy, allied health, government and community stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to use data, evidence and evaluation to inform decision-making, monitor outcomes, drive continuous improvement and support measurable improvements in primary care service delivery.
Experience in commissioning, procurement, contract management or provider performance management, including working with commissioned providers to deliver agreed outcomes.
Solid communication, influencing and facilitation skills, including the ability to tailor messages, support co-design, prepare high-quality briefings and reports, and bring stakeholders together around shared priorities
Demonstrated people leadership capability, including the ability to lead project teams, support staff and providers, manage competing priorities, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
