This is a varied, hands-on role working across the fabrication, modification and repair of bins, compactors, specialised waste assets and fleet equipment.
We are looking for a capable tradesperson who takes ownership of their work, values safety and takes genuine pride in producing reliable, high-quality outcomes.

Standard hours: 6:00 am to 2:06 pm

The Role
Based at our
Tottenham site
, you will undertake a broad range of fabrication, modification and repair work within our Engineering & Fabrication Division.
Your work will support our waste equipment, fleet workshop and operational teams, providing genuine variety across both new fabrication and repair projects.
The role includes:
Fabrication of waste and recycling bins
Modification and repair of existing bins
Fabrication, modification and repair of compactors
Repairs to specialised waste assets and equipment
Fleet welding repairs requested by the workshop
General fabrication and welding work as directed
Supporting workshop priorities and operational requirements
Standard Working Hours
This is a full-time permanent position working:
Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 2:06 pm
Applicants must be available to consistently work these standard hours.
Overtime may also be available depending on operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate, modify and repair bins, compactors and specialised waste equipment
Carry out welding repairs across fleet and workshop assets
Measure, mark, cut, prepare, weld and assemble steel components
Read and interpret drawings, specifications and job requirements
Complete fabrication work accurately and to the required standard
Identify damaged components and determine appropriate repair methods
Support new-build, modification and maintenance projects
Maintain a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
Keep work areas, tools and equipment clean, organised and serviceable
Follow all company safety procedures and safe work practices
Work collaboratively with workshop, engineering and operational personnel
Complete assigned work within required timeframes

What We're Looking For
Essential
Trade qualification in Engineering Fabrication, Boilermaking or a closely related field
Demonstrated fabrication and welding experience
Experience cutting, preparing, fitting, welding and assembling steel components
Ability to read and interpret drawings, measurements and job specifications
Strong understanding of workshop safety requirements
Ability to work accurately with limited supervision
Reliable attendance and a solid work ethic
Good communication and teamwork skills
Pride in workmanship and workshop presentation
Full Australian working rights
Highly Regarded
Experience fabricating or repairing bins and compactors
Experience with heavy steel fabrication
Experience with waste, transport or resource recovery equipment
Heavy vehicle or fleet workshop experience
Exposure to hydraulic or mechanical equipment repairs
Ability to undertake both new fabrication and repair work
Current Australian driver's licence
Forklift licence
