AECOM's new national structure has enabled deliberate investment to grow our national ecology practice, one that operates as a single national discipline with shared standards, deeper capability, and a unified are now seeking a NSW Ecology Lead to grow our NSW team, to join our established teams in Victoria, WA, Queensland and New Zealand in our ANZ Ecology Practice.
AECOM's environmental business is dedicated to helping industries, clients and governments meet their environmental responsibilities while protecting the natural environment. We provide advisory and technical services to ensure compliance, manage impacts, and reduce risks, including obtaining permits and approvals, decommissioning and restoring contaminated sites, and tackling climate change challenges and resilience. We focus on preserving habitats, water quality, stakeholder engagement and cultural resources, promoting a holistic approach to environmental impact management at every project stage.

Ifyou'rediven by ecological outcomes and want to lead the next phase of growth, we want you as our next Ecology Lead for NSW. This role is central to scaling our practice in the State: growing the team, lifting technical depth, building national consistency, deepening clientrelationshipsand increasing our market presence across NSW. In this opportunity,
you'll have the chance to:
Lead and developourNSW Ecology team
Drive strategic growth by building strong client relationships, supporting business developmentinitiativesand contributing to winning proposals and bids
Deliver to key clients while leading positioning of the ecology offering in NSW, including cross-selling across business lines and regions
Lead andimplementcomplex ecological investigations for high-profile infrastructure projects, including baseline ecological surveys, pre-clearingsurveysand targeted surveys for threatened species.
Oversee and prepare technical reports and plans, while empowering a team of ecologists through supportive leadership, guidance, bidcoordinationand project management.
Undertake field work acrossNSW and ACT
Lead strategy,innovationand digital enablement

NSW BAM Accreditationanability toprovidestrategic advice to clientsforavoiding,mitigatingand offsetting biodiversity impacts
Demonstrable ecology experience in Australia (ideally 10 years +), includingproven experience (ideally 5+ years) in NSWdelivering to local requirements.
Working knowledge of Commonwealth and NSW environmental legislation relating to the environment and an understanding of the relevant planning systems
Proven commercial acumen with experience growing client relationships and expanding service offerings.
Robust leadership and relationship-building skills, with a passion for mentoring, collaboration and developing high performing teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, withexperience as client facingtrusted advisorto public and private sector organisations.
Ability to develop people, shape capability and build a cohesiveNSWteam.
A recognizedecology technical leader with a record of delivering complex, high impact projects.
Ability for occasional travel within NSW for client,siteand agency engagements.
