We value a collaborative, team-based approach to leadership, where Elders, staff, and volunteer leaders work together to discern direction, share responsibility, and steward the life of the church.About the RoleWe are seeking a passionate and collaborativeAssistant Pastor – Children & Youthto help nurture the next generation in faith.This is a part-time leadership role focused on strengthening and coordinating our existing children's and youth ministries.
You will work within an established volunteer-led structure, providing vision, support, and pastoral care while fostering environments where children and young people can grow as followers of Jesus.The Assistant Pastor – Children & Youth will:Provide Ministry LeadershipOffer vision, direction and coordination for children's and youth ministries appropriate to a 2–3 day roleLead actively while empowering and delegating to volunteersProvide pastoral support to children, young people and families within part-time capacityEncourage spiritual growth through teaching, mentoring, prayer and exampleWork collaboratively with the Senior Pastor and Elders on pastoral mattersRecruit, train and support children's and youth ministry volunteersFoster a healthy,
safe and sustainable team culturePartner with the Child Safety Officer to ensure compliance with Safe Church requirementsStrengthen Family & Community EngagementPartner with parents and carers as key faith influencersMaintain visible and approachable relationships with familiesIdentify realistic outreach and engagement opportunities within the scope of the roleManage essential planning, communication and administrationParticipate in staff meetings and key church events as agreedProvide reports and maintain alignment with church leadershipAbout YouWe are seeking someone who demonstrates:A genuine and growing Christian faithA clear passion for children, young people and familiesWarmth, creativity, energy and strong relational skillsA collaborative, servant-hearted leadership styleStrong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise well in a part-time contextEmotional intelligence and cultural awarenessA deep commitment to child safetyQualifications & RequirementsExperience in children's and/or youth ministry (church context preferred)Formal theological, ministry or teaching qualifications desirableCurrent Victorian Working With Children CheckCompletion of CCVT Safe Church Awareness Workshop (within 6 months of appointment)Right to work in AustraliaAvailability for Sunday services and some evenings (by agreement)Willingness to become an active and engaged member of the church communityThis is a two-year appointment with annual review and the possibility of reappointment.
