Employment Duration: Approximately 12 months/ongoing for the right candidate
Award: Timber Industry Award 2020 - General Timber Stream
Pay and Conditions: in accordance with the Timber Industry Award 2020 - General Timber Stream. Rate of pay depends on experience, skills and classification under the Award. Current minimum hourly rates include:
Sandalwood Labour – Level 2: From $26.44 per hour
Tractor & Chainsaw Operator - Level 3: From $27.08 per hour
Excavator & Forklift Operators - Level 4: From $27.97 per hour
Hours of Work: 38 ordinary hours per week, with reasonable additional hours during peak operational periods where applicable.
About the Role
Down to Earth Pty Ltd is seeking reliable workers to undertake plantation operations on a sandalwood plantation in the Kununurra region.
Responsibilities
Sandalwood planting and maintenance
Plantation establishment and maintenance
Weed control
Irrigation installation and maintenance
Tractor operation
Excavator operation
Forklift operation
General manual labour
Loading and unloading materials
General plantation duties as directed
Skills and Attributes
No previous plantation experience required for Sandalwood Labour positions; full on-the-job training provided.
Physically fit and capable of manual outdoor work.
Reliable and punctual.
Can work independently and as part of a team.
Willing to work in varying weather conditions.
Positive attitude and robust work ethic.
For tractor, excavator and forklift operator positions, must hold any licences or competencies required by law.
Training
Full on-the-job training will be provided for suitable applicants. Opportunities are available to develop skills and progress within plantation operations.
