Join the University of Sydney's Veterinary Teaching Hospital, located on the Camperdown CampusCasual anaesthesia nursing opportunity available ASAP working rostered shifts as neededHEO 3 $***** per hour plus superAbout the opportunityThe University of Sydney's Veterinary Teaching Hospital is welcoming applications for a qualified Veterinary Nurse in Anaesthesia to provide support for clinical teaching and skilled nursing assistance with clinical cases.The staff member will work under close or direct supervision from Senior Staff, including Veterinarians and Senior Nurses.
They will be expected to exercise a degree of initiative and judgement in resolving routine problems associated with day-to-day operating procedures.
The staff member will undertake some planning and prioritisation of duties.
You will be required to work varying rostered shifts supporting the UVTHS activities.To learn more about the Sydney School of Veterinary Science, click here.Your key responsibilities will be to:administer anaesthesiageneral nursing duties, including husbandry, restocking, and cleaning, as well as assisting other departments when anaesthesia is not busymonitor patient vitals and provide pain managementmaintain anaesthesia equipment and document patient recordsprovide post-operative care and assist with training junior staff and students.About Youa Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)



and/or advanced veterinary nursing experience in a small animal referral hospital environment2-3 years of experience working as a Veterinary Nurse in a clinicthe eagerness to learn and upskill in anaesthesiathe ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressureexperience with advanced anaesthesia will be highly regarded.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.
