Over the course of the program, you'll work across the Open Point Platform, gaining exposure to different codebases, teams, and problem spaces while being supported by mentors and a structured learning plan.Remuneration and Career Growth:Our program equips graduates with the tools, support, and confidence to grow from engineering graduates into engineering professionals.We can offer you:Base salary range between $70,000 - $80,000 + superannuationFlexible hybrid working arrangement (Initially 1 day working from home, progressing as you come up to speed)Structured learning plan with a mentor for the full program durationAnnual $1,500 professional development allowanceAnnual $300 health & wellness allowanceHave a coffee, or matcha, on us (unlimited coffee tab)Paid day off on your birthdayAs a Graduate Software Engineer you will:Write clean,
maintainable code as part of an agile development teamContribute to features across our Open Point PlatformHelp design, build, and integrate AI-powered workflows and features into both products - for example, automating manual processes or surfacing insights from community and stakeholder engagement dataWork alongside senior engineers to evaluate and implement AI tools (e.g. LLM APIs, automation frameworks) that improve product functionality or internal efficiencySupport testing and refinement of AI features to ensure they're reliable, secure, and appropriate for a government-facing productParticipate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processesCollaborate with product managers, designers, and senior engineers to ship features that matter to real government and community usersBuild foundational skills in software architecture, testing practices, and secure development (we're SOC2, ISO *****, and ISO **** certified, so quality and security matter here)Take part in structured learning activities, mentoring sessions, and graduate cohort check-insAbout You:Recently completed (or completing) a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Must have graduated within the last 2 years.Hold full-time permanent work rights in AustraliaSolid understanding of programming fundamentals (language agnostic - we'll teach you our stack)Some exposure to or genuine interest in AI/ML concepts and tools (coursework, personal projects, or internships all count)Curious, collaborative, and keen to learn from experienced engineersAt Open Point, we believe that diversity drives success.
