Pre-Delivery Technician / Accessory Mechanical Fitter
Are you a skilled technician with a passion for heavy vehicles and delivering quality workmanship?
Join our team and play a critical role in preparing new Western Star, MAN, and Dennis Eagle trucks for customer delivery.
As a Pre-Delivery Technician / Accessory Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring every vehicle leaves our workshop in peak condition, meeting manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and customer expectations.
About the Role
Conduct comprehensive Pre‐Delivery Inspections (PDI) using manufacturer checklists and procedures.
Perform detailed mechanical inspections to ensure vehicles are fully operational and delivery‐ready.
Test and verify key vehicle systems, including engine performance, brakes, steering, suspension, transmission, and electrical components.
Inspect, top up, and replace fluids as required, including engine oil, coolant, transmission fluids, and AdBlue.
Install factory‐approved and aftermarket accessories such as UHF radios, GPS units, mudflaps, and other customer‐specified equipment.
Use advanced diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment to identify, clear, and report fault codes.
Complete final quality checks to ensure vehicles meet the highest standards of presentation and performance.
Ensure compliance with Australian Heavy Vehicle Standards, transport regulations, safety requirements, and manufacturer guidelines.
Accurately complete inspection reports, service documentation, and compliance records.
About You




Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Diesel Mechanics, Automotive Electrical, or a related field.
Experience working with heavy vehicles, trucks, or commercial equipment.
Strong diagnostic and fault‐finding skills.
A commitment to safety, quality, and attention to detail.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Experience with Western Star, MAN, or Dennis Eagle vehicles is highly regarded.
Electrical experience is highly regarded.
