Role Overview

Visiting Medical Officer – General Practitioner, Non‑Procedural at Gundagai Health Service. Provide comprehensive and qualified specialist services in General Practice that are secure, effective, evidence‑based, and patient‑centred. Work with 24‑hour emergency services and other clinical duties as defined by the local health district.

Responsibilities
Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth and on‑call services as determined and required by MLHD.
Attendance and availability during rostered work hours and while on‑call, including clinical handover, supervision, teaching, and for emergency and routine care.
Provision of education and support to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and protected clinical practice.

Qualifications & Experience
Primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the RACGP / ACRRM / RACP and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
Minimum three (3) years post‑graduate clinical experience; experience in Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics or Rural Medicine an advantage.




Knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of acute and chronic conditions; competence in minor urgent procedures, Advanced Life Support and Trauma management.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and to provide team leadership.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement.
Availability to participate in an on‑call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.

Work Location

Gundagai Multipurpose Service provides a 24‑hour accident and emergency and has hospital care beds and residential aged care beds.
