Responsibilities
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be experienced in customs clearance and/or freight forwarding methods and practices.
This includes accounting methods and practices, Customs Law, sales and commercial negotiation techniques, and fulfilling customer requirements.
You will run a cost‐effective environment and operate in accordance with the company policy, mission, vision and standards.
Key functions of the role include:
Ensure the smooth and efficient flow of customs clearance transactions through the business units
Make sure all aspects of the customer's special instructions and/or SOPs are fulfilled
Provide guidance, motivation and support to all staff within the business unit
Delegate duties to the business unit members,



ensuring adequate follow‐up procedures are met
Ensure that any opportunities for current business or extension are acted upon
Resolve disputes and issues related to service
Establish a client visitation program for all business unit accounts
Demonstrate strong awareness and understanding of financial management and cost controls
Produce a monthly report to be discussed at monthly management meetings
Qualifications
University degree or industry‐related qualifications (preferred but not essential)
Minimum 5 years experience with Branch Management or Leadership role
Quarantine accreditation or similar experience
Experience with CargoWise preferred
Knowledge of customs clearance procedures
Good technology skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office etc.
Ability to manage, motivate & develop individuals
