About the role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Caseworker to join our Integrated Domestic Family Violence Services (IDFVS) team on the Central Coast that provides women and children with support to escape and recover from violence and abuse and improve their outcomes.
Support is provided through ongoing practical and emotional support for victim/survivors living through the abuse and for victims who have escaped the abuser.
The main objective of the role is to provide effective, versatile, client-centered, trauma-informed, high-quality, time-framed case management/coordination services to clients of our IDFVS program.
You will work through the whole-of-family approach, which can include supporting the user of violence accessing appropriate supports in addressing their use of violence.
Your role will provide direct support, safety audits and safety planning, advocacy and education where required to women with or without children planning to stay, leave or escape a violent relationship.
Our Caseworkers utilise a best-practice model to deliver therapeutic outcomes, build client capabilities and safety, drive and promote change.
This is a permanent full-time position (5 days a week) based in Tuggerah and will require the successful incumbent to travel across the Central Coast visiting families in their residential homes or in the community.
Following successful completion of the 6-month probation period, a work-from-home option will be provided.
Responsibilities
Provide high quality, short term, comprehensive case management to support victim survivors through individualised case plans.
Complete comprehensive safety and risk assessments.
Provide support through advocacy, safety planning and collaboration with other services.
Provide timely intake and triage assessment.
Delivery of group facilitation on domestic violence education.




Develop and foster strong relationships with relevant external stakeholders and community groups including NSW Police, Department of Communities and Justice, NSW Health, etc.
Professional record keeping/reporting and information sharing consistent with legislation relating to NSW Privacy and Confidentiality, Child Protection and Safer Pathway obligations.
Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or equivalent qualifications.
A diploma with a minimum 2 years' experience in Case Management, working with victims of domestic and family violence.
Demonstrated practice experience relating to current Child Protection and domestic & family violence legislation.
Ability to demonstrate networking and advocacy skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to provide strong and respectful advocacy in situations of high pressure and competing agendas.
Ability to manage crisis or safety situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
A NSW Driver's Licence and insured vehicle.
