Macquarie University Health – Registered Nurse, Respiratory & EndoscopyAppointment type: open to part‐time & full‐time permanent arrangements.Base salary: $76,868 – $107,956 + 12% superannuation + salary packaging options.About the role: As a Registered Nurse in Respiratory and Endoscopy, you will deliver protected, compassionate, high‐quality care to patients undergoing respiratory assessments, interventions and endoscopic procedures.
You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, mentor junior staff, and participate in continuous professional development.ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care to patients with respiratory conditions, including assessment, monitoring, treatment and education.Prepare, assist and recover patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, ensuring safety, comfort and dignity.Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop individualized care plans and evaluate outcomes collaboratively.Administer medications, including procedural sedation, in accordance with protocols and best practice guidelines.Maintain competency with specialized respiratory and endoscopy equipment; handle setup, troubleshooting and post‐procedure care.Educate patients and families about respiratory management, post‐procedure care and self‐management strategies.Accurately document all aspects of patient care, observations and interventions.Participate in quality improvement initiatives,
clinical audits and evidence‐based practice projects.Contribute to a supportive team culture, mentoring, and ongoing professional development opportunities.Adhere to infection prevention, workplace health and safety, and all relevant clinical policies.Selection Criteria & QualificationsCurrent registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no conditions.Demonstrated clinical experience in respiratory nursing, endoscopy/procedural nursing, or a related acute care setting.Strong assessment, critical thinking and clinical decision‐making skills.Experience or willingness to develop competency in procedural sedation, airway management and operating related equipment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.Commitment to evidence‐based practice, quality improvement and ongoing professional development.Demonstrated ability to work flexibly across two specialty areas, managing competing priorities.BenefitsCompetitive salary plus superannuation and salary packaging.Postgraduate study and ongoing education support.Childcare at a reduced staff rate.Access to university facilities including sporting amenities, gym and pool.How to ApplyApplications close: Sunday, 9th August ****, 11:59pm AEST.Only open to Australian citizens, permanent residents or residents with full working rights.
