We are looking for an experienced clinician to deliver high‐quality psychological services and provide expert guidance in assessment, intervention, and clinical care coordination.
In this pivotal role, you will help enhance student wellbeing through evidence‐based practice, including thorough risk assessment and management, while helping to ensure continuity of care across services and providers.
You will help advocate for student needs within the University and help enable equitable access to appropriate care.
Through service coordination and partnership with internal and external stakeholders, you will help enrich integrated mental health and wellbeing support across our campus community.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of evidence‐based clinical interventions for students, informed by assessments and care planning recommendations.Help ensure adherence to clinical procedures and protocols related to counselling and psychological services.Partner with different areas of the university and key stakeholders, such as student accommodation providers, to develop education and training,



provide guidance on supporting students' wellbeing needs through learning activities and curriculum, and help embed wellbeing support within systems and processes.Identify, develop, and coordinate improvements to protocols for clinical service delivery within a stepped‐care framework.Provide high‐level guidance to individuals and groups on mental health issues, diagnosis, clinical therapies and interventions, or gender‐based violence.Identify the need for, and refer clients to, other relevant internal or external allied health or community services, and at times coordinate referral of students to appropriate external providers.Provide expert guidance to key stakeholders to implement case management plans and interventions, and manage complex cases involving perceived risk to self or others.Identify, evaluate, and report on potential clinical risks.Participate in peer supervision and contribute to clinical case discussions to strengthen psychological practice across the team.Partner with and advise other Student Wellbeing staff on escalated and/or complex cases.QualificationsCurrent and full registration with AHPRA to practice as a psychologist.5+ years post‐qualifications clinical experience.Demonstrated expertise in conducting psychosocial assessments and providing short‐term counselling using evidence‐based interventions, including trauma‐informed care.Proven capability to assess risk and conduct safety planning, including risk of harm to self and others, domestic/relationship abuse, and gender‐based violence.Knowledge of the range of issues impacting tertiary education students' wellbeing and engagement with studies.Expertise in developing and implementing support strategies and programs for students.Demonstrated ability to analyse complex issues, formulate solutions, communicate key findings to stakeholders, and exercise sound judgement.Experience providing excellence in clinical care/customer service to clients and stakeholders.Excellent communication skills, and proven ability to influence, negotiate, motivate people, and develop effective working relationships with senior managers, executive staff, academics, and students.Sound understanding of relevant clinical, ethical, privacy, EEO, and WHS obligations within a healthcare or education setting.BenefitsFlexible, hybrid work arrangements17% superannuationSubsidised onsite parking optionsExtensive training and career development programsOnsite childcare facilities to support working parentsOnsite vacation care during school holidaysDiscounted health insuranceSubsidised membership at the Sport & Aquatic CentreAccess to an Employee Assistance Program for free and confidential supportConvenient onsite GP, imaging, and physiotherapy clinicsApplications Close27 July ****
