Our services include criminal, family, civil and human rights law, youth justice, specialist litigation, a 24/7 Custody Notification Service, family violence programs, housing support, and community legal education.Our Finance team plays a critical role in ensuring these services can continue to operate sustainably and effectively.

and provide financial analysis that informs organisational decision-making.This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who enjoys working across a broad range of financial responsibilities and wants to contribute to continuous improvement within a purpose-driven organisation.Key responsibilitiesPrepare annual statutory financial statements and supporting schedulesAssist with month-end and year-end financial reporting processesPrepare journals, reconciliations and accounting adjustmentsDevelop and monitor budgets and financial forecastsAnalyse financial performance and prepare management reportsSupport external audit processes and respond to audit enquiriesProvide payroll backup support when requiredAssist the CFO and Deputy CFO with financial analysis and organisational reportingContribute to continuous improvement of finance processes and controlsAbout youDemonstrated experience in a professional accounting roleStrong knowledge of Australian Accounting StandardsExperience preparing financial statements, budgets and management reportsExcellent analytical skills and attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to explain financial information clearly to a range of stakeholdersExcellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing prioritiesA proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvementExperience in the not-for-profit sector will be highly regardedEssential requirementsA tertiary qualification in AccountingEligibility for CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand membershipCurrent Victorian Driver LicenceEmployee Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)National Criminal History CheckAustralian work rightsIf you're an experienced accountant looking for a role where your work has genuine purpose and impact, we'd love to hear from you.Be careful - Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
