What are we looking for?
This is a dynamic role, working closely with the Australian Underwriting team, Head of Australia, and global colleagues to provide professional and responsive support services.
As an Underwriting Assistant you will provide efficient administration and general office support and be involved in the day-to-day operation of the Melbourne office.
You will have solid administration skills, and ideally insurance knowledge.
You will have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience working in a vibrant, service excellence environment.
A confident communicator, you must be able to build strong relationships with external stakeholders and people at all levels of the organisation.
A can‐do attitude and the ability to challenge when the need arises are also essential.
What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities will include:
Deliver qualified and responsive support to clients and broker partners.
Assist with the preparation and administration of policy documentation, ensuring accuracy throughout the policy lifecycle.
Manage underwriting, vessel and customer records, maintaining accurate data across internal systems.
Support new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations and premium processing activities.
Coordinate vessel surveys and maintain related records and databases.




Prepare reports and management information to support business decision‐making.
Ensure efficient administration, accurate record keeping and smooth day‐to‐day office operations, including coordination of meetings and events.

Strong customer service focus with excellent communication and relationship‐building skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and confident using a range of business systems and technology.
Highly organised, with strong administrative skills and excellent attention to detail.
Proactive approach to continuous improvement and adopting best practice.
Willingness and ability to achieve and maintain relevant professional qualifications.
