Capital Facility Services Pty Ltd is seeking a Water Damage Restoration Technician to join our team in Preston, VIC ****.
This is a full-time position offering an exciting prospect to work in the water damage restoration and cleaning services industry.
As a Water Damage Restoration Technician, you will play a crucial role in helping property owners and businesses recover from water and fire related disasters and will assist with mould remediation.
Your expertise will be essential in minimising damage, preventing further deterioration, and restoring properties to their pre-loss condition.
This role is central to our mission of providing rapid, professional restoration services to clients across Melbourne and surrounding areas.Key responsibilitiesRespond promptly to emergency water damage calls and conduct thorough initial assessments of affected properties, as well as undertake immediate make-safe actionsExtract standing water using specialised equipmentDocument damage through photography and detailed written reports for insurance purposes from site via a real-time app on your phoneOperate and manage drying equipment such as air movers, dehumidifiers and moisture metres to restore properties to normal conditionsIdentify and treat areas affected by mould using appropriate remediation techniquesUndertake fire damage cleaning and remediation programsClean, sanitise and decontaminate affected areas to ensure safe, hygienic conditionsRemove damaged materials including drywall, insulation and flooring when necessaryWork collaboratively with other team members to complete restoration projects efficiently and to high standardsMaintain accurate records of work completed and materials used on each jobLiaise with the administration team, clients,



insurance companies and other stakeholders to provide updates on restoration progressWhat we're looking forProven experience in water damage restoration, remediation work or related cleaning and restoration services.
Experience in mould remediation would be highly regarded.Current water damage and/or mould remediation certifications such as IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) qualifications are preferred.Comprehensive knowledge of water damage assessment, drying techniques, fire damage restoration approaches and mould remediation proceduresProficiency in operating restoration equipment including dehumidifiers, air movers, moisture metres, pumps and carpet cleaning machinesStrong physical capability to perform demanding manual work, including lifting heavy equipment and working in challenging environmentsExcellent attention to detail and ability to document work accurately and comprehensivelyOutstanding customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with distressed clientsValid Australian's driver's licence and access to reliable transportAbility to work flexibly, including emergency call-outs outside standard business hoursCommitment to workplace health and safety practices and protocolsStrong problem‐solving abilities and capacity to work independently as well as part of a teamWhat we offerCapital Facility Services Pty Ltd provides a supportive and professional working environment where your contributions are valued.
