If you have 2+ years of experience and the right background, we want to hear from you.
If you have significantly more and bring deeper technical capability or the ability to lead drawing quality across a team, we'd structure the role and the package to reflect that.What matters most is that you have genuine temporary works experience (formwork, falsework, scaffolding, propping or similar) and you have a great attention to detail.The roleThis is a hands-on drafting role at the heart of AWE's design process.
You'll work closely with our engineers to produce accurate, buildable structural drawings across a wide variety of temporary works projects.
It's not a production-line drawing role, temporary works is a specialist discipline where drawings need to be coordinated with complex construction sequences, tight site constraints, and engineering intent that evolves as projects progress.You'll be based in our Elsternwick office with great parking nearby,



working alongside our engineers in a collaborative environment where your contribution is visible and your development is genuinely supported.What you'll actually be doingProducing 2D structural drawings in AutoCAD for temporary works designs - formwork, falsework, scaffolding, propping, façade retention and demolition worksDeveloping 3D models to support design coordination and client/contractor communication (experience with Tekla; or Revit; or similar)Working directly with engineers to interpret design intent and translate it into clear, accurate, site-ready drawingsPreparing and updating drawing registers, revision management, and QA checks on your own workCoordinating with project stakeholders (including site teams and contractors) to resolve drawing queries and incorporate design changesContributing to continuous improvement of AWE's drafting standards, templates and workflowsAt senior level: reviewing others' drawings, mentoring junior team members, and helping shape AWE's drawing quality standardsWhat we need from youEssential - you'll need these to be considered:Construction and/or temporary works background (formwork, falsework, scaffold, propping or similar preferred)Ability to read and interpret structural engineering drawings and calculationsVictorian Driver's LicencePreferred - these will set you apart:AutoCAD 3D or other 3D drafting experienceRevit and/or Tekla and/or Rhino structures drafting experienceExperience reviewing or mentoring other drafters (senior candidates)What's in it for youCompetitive salary packageGenuine variety, no two temporary works projects are the same, and the drawing challenges reflect thatA small team where your work is noticed and your development is taken seriouslyDirect access to experienced engineers who understand the discipline and are happy to explain the 'why' behind the designElsternwick office with excellent parking and genuine flexibility in working hoursTraining support and encouragement to grow your skills across 3D platforms and specialist temporary works drafting
