Your work will include:Preventive maintenance (PMs) and scheduled servicing of injection moulding machines and auxiliariesBreakdown response and fault finding across mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systemsDiagnosing oil leaks and replacing seals, hoses, valves and other hydraulic components where requiredTroubleshooting how hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical components interact with electrical controls – an understanding of "mechatronics" in practiceWorking closely with the Site Engineer and Engineering Manager on reliability and improvement projectsSupporting installation and commissioning of new machinery, automation and robotics as the site continues to growLiaising with production,



other trades and contractors to minimise downtime and keep the plant running smoothlyAbout YouWe're looking for a practical, driven tradesperson who takes pride in doing the job properly and enjoys solving problems.You'll ideally bring:Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance FitterSolid experience in maintenance and fault-finding in a manufacturing environmentExperience with injection moulding, plastics or other high‐speed manufacturing (FMCG, packaging, food & bev, automotive, printing, etc.) – highly regarded but not essentialStrong hands‐on skills in hydraulics and pneumatics, including fault finding and component replacementAn understanding of how electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics work together – formal mechatronics qualifications are not required as long as you have good troubleshooting experienceDisconnect/reconnect licence, or the willingness to obtain one with employer supportGood communication skills and a team-oriented, "no dramas" attitudeA solid work ethic, reliability and the drive to take ownership of issues and follow through – the leadership team is particularly keen on someone with initiative and energy.The Company & SiteThis role is with a well‐established, rapidly growing manufacturing facility in Moorabbin that has a strong track record of investing in new machinery, automation and site improvements.
