Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority – Anglesea VICThe Excellent Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is responsible for protecting and managing one of Australia's most iconic coastal landscapes.
We care for parks, reserves and marine environments along the Great Ocean Road, including internationally recognised visitor sites.
Working closely with Traditional Owners, communities and stakeholders, we protect environmental, cultural and heritage values while supporting sustainable visitation and long‐term conservation.Join the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority as a Foreshore Ranger based in Anglesea.
In this hands‐on role, you'll help maintain and enhance some of Victoria's most iconic coastal reserves, beaches, parks and visitor facilities.Working as part of a small, dedicated team, you'll undertake a variety of maintenance, landscaping and infrastructure tasks that support safe, clean and enjoyable experiences for visitors and local communities.
This role offers the opportunity to work outdoors, contribute to environmental stewardship and play a key part in protecting the unique coastal assets of the Great Ocean Road region.What you'll do?
Maintain foreshore reserves, visitor facilities, amenities and public spaces to high standardsUndertake grounds maintenance including mowing, brush cutting, trimming, pruning and litter controlComplete minor carpentry, painting, concreting and general repairs to infrastructure and facilitiesOperate and maintain a range of plant, machinery and equipmentDeliver weed control, revegetation, fencing and landscaping activitiesAssist with track, path and beach access maintenance worksSupport the delivery of small projects across coastal reserves and caravan parksAssist with community events, site set‐up and pack‐down activities,
and beach accessibility programsEngage professionally with visitors, community members, contractors and stakeholdersParticipate in safety, risk management and team planning activitiesContribute to the protection and presentation of the Great Ocean Road's coastal environmentsWhat we're looking for?
Experience in grounds maintenance, land management, facilities maintenance, trades or a related fieldA trade qualification, certificate or diploma relevant to foreshore operations is desirablePractical experience operating plant, machinery and equipment safelySound maintenance and problem-solving skills with a hands‐on approach to workGood communication skills and the ability to engage positively with a broad range of peopleComfortable using email, mobile applications and digital devices for day‐to‐day work activitiesAbility to work effectively as part of a small team and contribute to a positive workplace cultureCurrent First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain)Current Australian Driver's LicenceAbility to obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children CheckPlease note: This role requires weekend work during peak visitation periods, including Christmas and Easter, with limited annual leave availability during these times.
