About The Opportunity We are seeking a detail‐driven and analytical AIC Officer to support the delivery of Australian Industry Capability outcomes across Austal Defence Australia (ADA).
In this role, you will work closely with the AIC Manager and Supply Chain teams to monitor, analyse, and report on contract expenditure, ensuring compliance with Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement (SSA) requirements.
You will play a key role in supporting the development of Australian industry by tracking supplier performance, analysing data, and contributing to initiatives that maximise local supplier engagement and capability development.About Austal We are Australia's global shipbuilder, Defence prime contractor, and maritime technology partner of choice.

trackingAnalyse contract spend and validate supplier AIC claimsMonitor ICE to ACE conversion and overall AIC performanceSupport identification of opportunities to increase Australian industry participationMaintain ICN Gateway work packages and supplier engagement activitiesAssist with procurement business cases and reporting requirementsProvide guidance to suppliers on AIC obligations and compliance requirementsSupport reporting, audits, and stakeholder communicationAssist with AIC-related meetings, events, and documentationYou'll NeedEssentialStrong analytical skills and attention to detailExperience working with data, reporting, or financial analysisProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, SharePoint, Power BI)Experience using ERP systems (IFS preferred)Strong organisational and time management skillsAbility to work independently and manage competing prioritiesDesirableExperience in procurement, supply chain, or industry engagementKnowledge of Australian Industry Capability or sovereign capability initiativesExperience in defence, manufacturing, or engineering environmentsStrong stakeholder engagement and communication skillsWhy Join Us?
