Located in the eastern region, Monash is a cosmopolitan and culturally diverse city, close to the demographic centre of Melbourne.Reporting to the Litter Prevention Specialist, the role sits within the Resource Recovery team of the SustainableMonash Department.About the PositionThe Litter Enforcement Officer is responsible for undertaking education, investigation, monitoringand enforcement activities to address littering, illegal dumping, recycling contamination and waste relatedcompliance issues across the City of Monash.Skills and ExperienceSound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Environment Protection Act ****, associated Regulations and Council Local Laws, and the ability to interpret and apply those requirements in compliance and enforcement activities.Understanding of regulatory investigation, enforcement and evidence management processes.Knowledge of litter prevention,



illegal dumping and waste compliance practices within a local government environment.Understanding of the role within the broader objectives of Council's Resource Recovery and Waste Services functions.Solid analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills.Understanding of behaviour change and community engagement principles.RequirementsEmployee Working with Children's CheckSatisfactory National Police Check; andOther pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.BenefitsAs a City of Monash employee, your personal and professional development is a key focus for us.
