The Role
This role focuses on the planning and delivery of high quality, culturally responsive playgroup programs and services for the Wathaurong community.
The position supports children's learning and development, kindergarten readiness, parent engagement and community connection through culturally safe, inclusive and strengths-based playgroup experiences.
About You
Knowledge of safe and appropriate culturally centred practices for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander focused services, including employment of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
Demonstrated understanding of social, physical, economical, and cultural strengths and challenges affecting Aboriginal communities and their ability to access adequate and quality services
Understanding of the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Secure Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with families, community members and stakeholders, build positive relationships, and communicate in a culturally appropriate and professional manner
Ability to work autonomously to manage own workload,
cooperate as part of a team and follow processes
Desirable
Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
Certificate III, working towards or willing to obtain a qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care
*A police check, Working with Children Check, Vaccination Certificate and current Driver Licence are required for all positions.
