Youth Justice Worker - Nights - relocate to MalmsburyDepartment of Justice and Community Safety VIC - Wangaratta VICMalmsbury Youth Justice Precinct (Malmsbury) has reopened and will house a small group of young men in custody (young people) aged 17 and over.Youth justice worker (Nights) are thefrontline staffwhosupervise and support young people overnight who are on remand or serving a sentence in custody.We are currently offering up to $10K in relocation allowances for people interested in moving to within an hour's drive of the facility.As a full time youth justice worker on night shift, you will be responsible for:CCTV monitoring,compliance reporting,responding to alarmsandperimeter searchescreating asafe and secure environmentfor both staff and young peopleworking directly with children and young people in a custodial environment, including regular observationredirecting anti-social and challenging behaviourresponding to incidentsas they occurfacilitating supportfrom other services, including health and mental health providers,



educators and disability organisations.To be successful,you will be a keenproblem solverwith greatsituational awareness, but this job can be tough and attimes, your resilience will be tested.However, by putting in the work, you will see young people make small shifts in their thinking that can have amajor impacton their lives and community safety.To be considered for a youth justice worker role you must be either:an Australian citizen - a birth certificate, citizenship certificate or current passport is required as proof of eligibilitya permanent resident of Australiaa New Zealand citizen who has entered Australia on a valid passport, or eligible to work in Australia for a period of more than six months.You will also need to pass a health and fitness assessment.
A driver licence is desirable but not mandatory.
