The position arises from an incumbent paediatricians resignation.There is a pro-rata on call component, in addition to outpatient clinic and inpatient ward rounds.
A wide range of medical and non-medical problems are seen in this busy clinic.
You will be providing contemporary comprehensive specialist services for optimal patient outcomes by providing support and training to other clinicians in a dynamic multidisciplinary team.Your aim will be to achieve quality education and protected clinical practice to patients and clients in our local community.
The Dubbo Paediatric Department is a cohesive and friendly team who strive for excellence, whilst maintain reasonable work-life balance.
Dubbo Health Service has a 13 bed Child & Adolescent Unit and an 8-12 bed, level 4 Special Care Nursery.Middle grade cover is provided 24-7 in 12 hour shifts, by three Paediatric Advanced Trainees seconded from the Sydney Children's Hospital Network, as well as our one local Paediatric Trainee.
There are plentiful opportunities for teaching, both within the hospital and throughout the region.




The University of Sydney Rural School of Medicine oversees placement of 7 medical students at DHS.Successful candidates may be able to seek an Academic-Teaching-Research role with one of our three partner Universities in the District being University of Sydney for Dubbo Health Service, Charles Sturt University for Orange Health Service and Western Sydney University for Bathurst Health Service.
