We work with commercial, government, industrial, and public infrastructure clients, delivering high-quality services while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Recycling or Rubbish Collector to join our Melbourne West team.About the RoleAs a Recycling or Rubbish Collector, you will assist with the safe collection, handling, sorting, and disposal of litter, recyclable materials, and waste across roadsides, public spaces, commercial properties, and infrastructure sites.
You will help maintain clean environments while ensuring compliance with workplace safety and environmental standards.Key ResponsibilitiesCollect and remove litter, dumped rubbish, debris, and recyclable materials from roadsides, medians, parks, public areas, and designated collection sites.Load collected waste into bins, trailers, collection vehicles, or approved waste containers using protected manual handling techniques.Sort recyclable materials and dispose of waste in accordance with company procedures and environmental regulations.Identify and report hazardous waste, including sharp objects, syringes,



chemical containers, contaminated materials, and other unsafe items.Inspect assigned work areas and maintain high standards of cleanliness.Assist with transporting and unloading waste at approved recycling and disposal facilities.Apply safe lifting, carrying, and manual handling practices during all collection activities.Report illegal dumping, damaged waste infrastructure, environmental hazards, and unsafe conditions to supervisors.Work safely near live traffic, pedestrians, and moving vehicles while following Traffic Management Plans where applicable.Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.Complete required job records and communicate any operational issues promptly.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:Minimum 1 year of experience in waste collection, recycling, grounds maintenance, cleaning, or a related field.Understanding of waste management practices and environmentally responsible disposal methods.Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.Ability to identify hazards and report unsafe conditions.Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual outdoor work.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high safety standards.Current driver's licence (preferred).
