The New Vehicle Sales Consultant is responsible for guiding customers through the new vehicle buying process, delivering high-quality service and the best solution to meet customer needs.
The role builds and maintains customer relationships, drives new vehicle sales, and ensures every customer interaction reflects the dealership's standards and brand.ResponsibilitiesIncluding but not limited to:Greet each customer promptly and courteously upon arrivalProvide a high level of customer service through accurate, timely, and courteous handling of enquiriesHandle new vehicle customers in line with dealership sales process and policyConduct vehicle delivery in line with dealership proceduresFollow up and resolve customer requests and complaintsProspect for customers using mailers, phone, personal contacts, and referralsMaintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat business and generates leadsDevelop and maintain a daily record of all enquiries (telephone, walk-in, internet)Aftermarket & F&I; IntroductionsIntroduce all clients (at point of sale) to the Aftermarket Sales ConsultantIntroduce clients to the Business Manager / Finance and Insurance ManagerIntroduce each customer to the Service Manager on delivery, who will explain servicing procedures and other services offeredVehicle Preparation & PresentationTest drive and examine the condition and specification of new vehicles ahead of deliveryCheck trade-in vehicles against valuationExplain the vehicle service book and warranty to the customerEnsure demonstration vehicles are kept clean and professionally presentableRearrange display vehicles as required,
or at the direction of the New Vehicle Sales ManagerAdministrationComplete all sales documents accurately and promptlyEnsure desk and office area is kept organised and presentableProduct Knowledge & Professional DevelopmentMaintain a thorough knowledge of all current product benefits and features including models, series, specifications, prices, colours, options, packs, and accessoriesMaintain a sound knowledge of competitive productsUtilise all product information made available by the manufacturer and line managerAttend training programs as requested by managementQuality AssuranceComplete all relevant paperwork accurately and promptlyReport customer complaints and conditions affecting operational efficiencyMaintain adherence to the quality assurance systemMake suggestions for process improvements as appropriateWorkplace Health & SafetyAvoid unsafe work practices and comply with WHS standards and company policyMaintain a clean workspace and follow security procedures where applicableReport all accidents and potential hazards to the line managerFoster positive workplace relations and team moraleSupport the line manager and team members as requiredParticipate in interdepartmental meetings as requiredPerform other duties as reasonably directedSkills and ExperienceProven experience in a sales role (automotive preferred)Ability to work to KPIs and meet sales targetsExcellent sales and negotiation skillsExceptional interpersonal and customer service skillsExceptional verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work autonomously and collaboratively within a teamAbility to work effectively under pressureImmaculate and skilled presentation
