Temporary Contract | ASAP Start – 2 October ****** hours per week$55 per hour + superNorth Eastern Suburbs | MelbournePublic Sector People are partnering with a local council to recruit an experienced Freedom of Information Officer for an immediate temporary opportunity.This is a fantastic opportunity for an FOI professional to play a key part in ensuring legislative compliance while providing trusted advice across the organisation.About the Role:We are looking for an experienced Freedom of Information specialist to manage and process requests for access to Council information while ensuring compliance with the Freedom of Information Act **** (Vic), Privacy and Data Protection Act **** (Vic), Health Records Act **** (Vic) and other relevant legislation.You will also provide expert advice to internal stakeholders, prepare documents in response to subpoenas, work closely with the Information Management team to support strong recordkeeping practices,



and deliver training to improve organisational understanding of information access obligations.Key Criteria:Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or extensive experience managing Freedom of Information and information access requests.Significant experience processing FOI requests within a complex organisation, ideally in local or state government.Strong knowledge of Victorian FOI, privacy and health records legislation.Excellent written communication skills with experience preparing policies, procedures, guidelines and reports.Experience designing and delivering organisation-wide training relating to Freedom of Information.Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to provide practical and timely advice.If you are an experienced FOI qualified looking for your next contract opportunity, we'd love to hear from you!
